Most corpus luteum cysts will have no symptoms. Normally, a corpus luteum cyst occurs at the end of a women’s menstrual cycle, last in to the ealy stage of pregnancy and slowly resolv itself. In some cases a corpus luteum cyst may expand with blood or liquid inside and attatch itself to the ovary.
When a corpus luteum cyst grow, bleed or twist the ovary, it may cause ovarian pain and require surgery. Corpus luteum cyst may have the possibility to rupture, which can case sharp pain and internal bleeding.
In most cases of corpus luteum cysts, everyday activities can still be maintained and the woman’s life will not be affected. If you do not experience serious symptoms (ovrian pain, bleeding, etc), surgery is not a good choice. For sudden and serious ovarian pain, emergency care is needed.
However, herbal remedies have proven to be effective in the treatment of corpus luteum cysts. It usually takes between two to six months for the treatment to be completely effective depending upon the size and number of corpus luteum cysts present. Supplements, such as multivitamins and minerals, have also been found to be effective in the treatment and control of corpus luteum cysts.
